Tray-tober Day 13: Tray QR

In QR Code the Q stands for quick. In Tray QR the Q stands for “quick and easy and out of the way.” That is what you can expect when using this tool. Many jobs need little QR codes here and there, but there is a dark side to QR Codes that can burn you. Tray QR doesn’t need a financing model because unlike a website there are no hosting fees. A billion users could start using Tray QR and it wouldn’t cost me a cent.

I see this app as an extension of Windows. Easily drag out of the app into whatever app you’re working in. Also read QR Codes by pasting, triggering the snipping tool, or old fashioned opening of a file. I love adding these modern interaction methods like dragging and pasting in tray apps because it adds an extra level of efficiency in touch point where speed is everything.

Another thought you might have is, “well my graphic designer friend/coworker needs something like this but they are on a Mac.” You’re in luck! I’ve also built QRBar to be a MenuBar version of Tray QR for the Mac! Download the MacOS app here.

The regular Windows tray app source code and releases are available as always here below:

Happy Tray-tober!
