Fresh off the complier is Text Grab 4.7 with two awesome productivity boosters in tow. Text Grab has had a history for a few releases but now the Quick Simple Lookup mode can search and open items from your history. The original use case of Text Grab was the Full Screen Grab mode and it is getting an upgrade with the ability to take actions after selecting text like doing a web search!
History Search

Searching through notes and memory has always been a powerful way to recall information an get context fast. Quick Simple Lookup is the tool which will get you there faster. Press Win + Shift + Q (default hotkey) and start typing. Boom all if your history is there and available at the press of the enter key! I kind of had a hard time doing a demo recording of this feature because it is so simple and fast it can be hard to understand what is going on, but using it is a dream!
In addition to opening history items you can right click and delete single items. Previously history was managed by deleting all or nothing, so this is more user friendly for sure! If you don’t like having your history included in your lookup options then you can check this box and disable it.

Post-Grab Actions

After you grab some text from your screen using the Full Screen Grab mode usually you want to do something with it. With the new “post-grab actions” feature you can do common fixes, send to a web search, or try to insert the text. These are the initial command and more can easily be added. This feature speeds up a common workflow for me and I hope you’ll find it valuable too!
With feedback I am always working to improve Text Grab to do more and improve the tool to make my users more productive. There are big features I’m looking at and little improvements along the way, so stay tuned!
