Building apps is hard. One of the most challenging parts is the feedback is rare and when it does arrive, frequently negative. I love using indie apps on Windows and as a indie developer I know important it is to share positive feedback!
Microsoft has the Store Awards which recognizes great indie app developers on Windows. The nominations are open and I suggest you nominate the apps you use. In addition to nominating them I suggest you send a short email to the developer saying you like their app! It really goes a long way!

Here are the elements Microsoft is hoping you’ll consider when choosing which apps to nominate:
- Integrated with the latest hardware and technology
- Just makes your jaw drop when using it
- Unique in capabilities / function
- Makes strong use of Windows OS features
- User Experience
- Innovation
- Promotes or furthers inclusiveness, diversity, and community mindfulness
