No. Here are a few prompts and their outputs side by side.
a windows app which can be used to manage files and folders

a laptop app for focusing, setting timers, stopwatches, and a world clock in a windows 11 fluent design language
Design an app which can monitor running tasks and has tabs with graphs that show current resource usage like RAM and CPU

A portfolio for a Windows developer creator who has built several utilities which increase users productivity
A desktop WPF program for engineers to design 3d CAD

None of these designs are Windows apps or even desktop programs of any kind. They are all basic looking mobile apps which are the “first most obvious design” for any kind of app (according to mobile only thinking). It is amazing that these designs can be generated and they aren’t just JPEGs but actually editable!

When this feature was announced, the CEO of Figma was very clear that this design AI is in early stages, needs more training data, and not expected to generate complete final designs. My only disappointment is how cookie cutter all of the designs seem to be. There is a very specific look and feel but i(os) can’t put my finger on it.
If you have ideas for prompts let me know and I’ll do another one of these.
